Despite missing star wide receiver Jakobi Lane, USC’s offense didn’t miss a beat in a dominant showing that saw the Trojans rack up 517 total yards en route to a 4-0 start.

The ground game led the charge, powered by two of the most underrated backs in the country. Waynond Jordan was electric, totaling 182 all-purpose yards, including 157 rushing yards on 18 carries. Eli Sanders added 84 yards on the ground with 13 carries and finished with 104 total yards.

Quarterback Jayden Maiava was efficient and explosive, going 20-for-26 for 234 passing yards and accounting for five total touchdowns. Without Lane, Maiava leaned on Big Ten receiving yards leader Makai Lemon, who stepped up in a big way with 145 total yards and two touchdowns. Maiava also contributed on the ground, punching in two rushing scores himself.

This USC offense continues to look dangerous and will face a big test next week on the road against No. 9 Illinois. The Illini are coming off a humbling 63-10 loss to No. 19 Indiana, and will look to bounce back in what could be a pivotal matchup.
