Sierra Canyon Dominates JSerra in Statement Win Over Trinity League Powerhouse

In a much-anticipated clash between two of Southern California’s premier high school football leagues, the Mission League’s Sierra Canyon got its long-awaited revenge against the Trinity League’s JSerra. One year removed from a humbling 35-7 defeat in San Juan Capistrano, the Trailblazers stormed into this matchup with a revamped roster and a point to prove — and they did so in emphatic fashion.

From the opening whistle, Sierra Canyon imposed its will, controlling the game on both sides of the ball and cruising to a decisive victory. The defense was especially dominant, led by a pair of five-star phenoms: Texas commit Richard Wesley and LSU commit Havon Finney Jr. Together, they anchored a unit that completely stifled the JSerra offense, allowing few, if any, opportunities for momentum.

JSerra, known for its physicality and discipline, simply had no answers. Every phase of the game was tilted in Sierra Canyon’s favor — from the defensive trenches to the secondary, from special teams to offensive execution.

This performance sends a clear message to the rest of the state: Sierra Canyon is not only back, but potentially better than ever. With elite talent on both sides of the ball and a chip on their shoulder, the Trailblazers look poised to make a serious run at a state championship.

If this win is any indication, Sierra Canyon is a team to watch — and fear — in 2025.
