Kyle Schwarber launched his 51st home run of the season, and Harrison Bader continued his red-hot streak at the plate as the Phillies edged the Royals 8-6 on Saturday night.
Bader, who has quickly become a key piece of Philadelphia’s lineup, turned in another strong performance with a 3-hit night. Since joining the team, he’s provided a major offensive spark and proven to be an excellent mid-season acquisition.
Closer Jhoan Duran shut the door in the ninth, earning his 30th save of the season and helping the Phillies move one step closer to clinching. Their magic number is now down to 1, putting them on the brink of being division champs again.
