The Phillies completed a sweep of the Mets with a hard-fought 6–4 win. Jesús Luzardo took the mound and delivered a solid outing, going 8 innings while allowing 4 runs but then bounced back by retiring 22 straight batters. He also tallied 10 strikeouts.
The offensive hero of the night was Otto Kemp, who sparked the Phillies’ comeback with a no-doubt 2-run homer in the bottom of the 4th. Kemp came through again in the 6th, delivering a clutch RBI double to tie the game at 4–4.
Harrison Bader, continuing his hot streak at the plate, broke the tie with a two-out RBI single later in the inning. Bryce Harper added some insurance with an RBI single of his own to make it 6–4.
With the win, the Phillies’ magic number is 5.
