PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Phillies won a close one against the Braves, taking it 2-1 despite giving up 10 hits. Ranger Suarez took the mound for Philly and allowed 10 hits, but was able to limit the Braves to just 1 earned run in a gritty performance.
The Braves’ offense, which racked up 12 hits, struggled to convert their opportunities into runs. Jhoan Duran, the recent acquisition that Phillies fans have been raving about, closed out the game in style, tossing a quick 1-2-3 inning with 2 strikeouts and no hits.
The Phillies will look to take the series tomorrow as ace and CY Young contender Cristopher Sanchez takes the mound in the third game of this 4-game set.
