The Phillies made a statement at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday night, dismantling the Mets 11-3 in a lopsided win. Cristopher Sánchez, one of the front-runners for the NL Cy Young Award, turned in another strong performance. The left-hander went six innings, allowing just four hits and one earned run while striking out six.

Philadelphia’s offense exploded for 14 hits, with several players contributing to the scoring onslaught. Max Kepler led the way with a monster night at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBIs, including a home run. Brandon Marsh continued his recent offensive surge, finishing 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Harrison Bader also stayed hot, adding a pair of hits to extend his recent run of success.

Despite leaving 11 men on base and striking out 12 times, the Phillies still managed to plate 11 runs—an indication of just how deep their lineup can be when clicking.

With the win, the Phillies extend their lead in the NL East to 10 games, and their magic number to clinch the division is down to 7. They’ll go for the sweep tomorrow with Jesús Luzardo set to take the mound.
