PHILADELPHIA —
After going 0-for-20 in his last at-bats, Kyle Schwarber erupted in historic fashion, launching four home runs to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to a 19-4 rout of division rival Atlanta Braves. The MVP candidate now sits at 49 homers, just one behind MLB leader Cal Raleigh.
Schwarber accounted for four of the Phillies’ seven home runs in the blowout win, snapping out of his slump and jumpstarting an offense that had struggled in a disappointing series against the Mets.
With October approaching, Schwarber’s monster night couldn’t have come at a better time.
