Ace Cristopher Sánchez took the mound for the Phillies and delivered a stellar performance, throwing 7 shutout innings while allowing just 3 hits and striking out 6.

The Phillies held a late lead heading into the 8th, but things unraveled quickly. David Robertson was the first out of the bullpen and surrendered a run, cutting into the lead.

In the 9th, dominant closer Jhoan Duran—who has been one of the best in baseball since joining the Phillies—came in looking for the save. He struck out the first batter on four pitches, but then gave up a game-tying solo home run, making it 3-3.

The game went to extras, and in the 10th, the Phillies showed some fight. Alec Bohm and Nick Castellanos each delivered RBI singles to tie the game at 5-5.

However, in the top of the 11th, the Marlins scratched across a run on a sacrifice fly to take a 6-5 lead. The Phillies were then retired in order in the bottom half, going down 1-2-3 to end the game.
