#1 Ohio State continued its impressive season with a 34-16 victory over #17 Illinois on the road in a top-25 matchup. Quarterback Julian Sayin was efficient under center, completing 19 of 27 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns — one to Jeremiah Smith and another to freshman standout Bo Jackson.

The real stars of the game, however, were on defense. The Buckeyes’ defense dominated from start to finish, recording 4 sacks, 6 tackles for loss, 6 pass deflections, and 2 forced fumbles. Ohio State now ranks #1 in the nation in points allowed and #2 in passing yards allowed, surrendering just two touchdowns all season.

With this win, Ohio State strengthens its case for a repeat national championship run. Next week, the Buckeyes will look to stay undefeated as they travel to Madison to face Wisconsin in another tough road test.
