Ohio State commit Brady Edmunds showed exactly why he’s ranked as the No. 8 quarterback in the nation, leading Huntington Beach High School to a dominant 48-7 win over Western High School on Thursday night.
Edmunds was nearly unstoppable, throwing for five touchdowns and adding two more scores on the ground. By halftime, the Oilers had already built a commanding 34-7 lead, and the game was never in doubt from there.
Western simply couldn’t match the pace or intensity of the Huntington Beach offense. Edmunds dissected the defense with pinpoint throws, while also showing off his athleticism with a pair of rushing scores that had the home crowd on its feet.
Huntington Beach improves to 2-1 on the season and will face Redondo Union next Friday, September 12,
With performances like this, Edmunds continues to solidify his status as one of the top quarterback prospects in the nation — and gives Ohio State fans plenty to be excited about in the coming years.
