Former Phillies Prospect Mick Abel Shuts Out His Old Team in Dominant Start

PHILADELPHIA, PA – September 27, 2025 — Former Phillies top prospect Mick Abel delivered a statement performance on Saturday night, shutting down his former club in a 4-0 victory. It was Abel’s first start against the Philadelphia Phillies since being traded earlier this season, and the right-hander made the most of his “revenge game.”

Abel, now pitching for the Minnesota Twins, tossed 6 scoreless innings, allowing just 3 hits, striking out 9, and walking none in a dominant effort. The Phillies, who traded Abel for closer Jhoan Durán at the 2025 trade deadline, couldn’t find any answers against their former top prospect.
