The Monarchs are now 5-0 all-time against Bishop Gorman. After a tough loss last week to Corona Centennial, the former #1 ranked Mater Dei bounced back to defeat the powerhouse Bishop Gorman in a thrilling 27-24 matchup.

In the first half, Mater Dei blocked a Bishop Gorman field goal attempt, and four-star cornerback Aaryn “J.O.” Washington returned the block deep into Gael territory. Tonight belonged to Mark Bowman, the five-star tight end and USC commit, who caught two touchdown passes from Wisconsin commit Ryan Hopkins to help secure the win in Las Vegas.

Next week, the Monarchs will open league play on the road against Orange Lutheran.
