The Toronto Maple Leafs fell to the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 despite heavily outshooting their opponent. The Leafs finished with 40 total shots but managed to score only twice, while the Red Wings capitalized on their limited opportunities—scoring three goals on just 15 shots.

Defensively, Toronto struggled throughout the night, appearing a step slow in retrieving pucks and closing lanes. It proved to be a hard lesson for the Maple Leafs not to underestimate any opponent.

Goalie Anthony Stolarz reflected on the loss, saying, “At the end of the day, it’s a lesson for us. We have to come to play every night. Doesn’t matter who you’re playing—teams in this league are good. Anyone can beat anyone on any given night.” Wise words from the veteran netminder after a tough defeat.

The Leafs will look to bounce back in their next matchup against the Nashville Predators.
