Shohei Ohtani made his long-awaited postseason debut for the Dodgers and delivered a solid outing, going six innings while allowing three hits, three runs, and striking out nine.

Cristopher Sánchez kept the Dodgers’ offense quiet through the early innings, but Kiké Hernández got Los Angeles on the board in the sixth with a clutch two-run double to cut the deficit to 3–2.

The momentum shifted in the seventh when Teoscar Hernández came through as the hero of the night. After an Andy Pages single and a Will Smith hit-by-pitch, Hernández crushed a two-out, three-run homer to give the Dodgers a 5–3 lead.

The Dodgers’ bullpen handled business from there, and Japanese phenom Roki Sasaki closed it out, securing the save and the Game 1 victory.
