The Dodgers put an end to their five-game losing streak and avoided a sweep with a 5–2 win against the Baltimore Orioles, thanks to a strong all-around performance and a vintage outing from future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw, who has been in great form throughout August, continued to look sharp. He tossed 5 innings, allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs, and striking out 8. He showed no signs of slowing down as the postseason nears.

The Dodgers’ offense finally woke up. MVP frontrunner Shohei Ohtani led the charge, going 2-for-2 with two home runs and drawing three walks. Former MVP Mookie Betts chipped in with a homer of his own, adding to the offensive surge.

The bullpen delivered a dominant performance as well. One of this season’s breakout arms, Justin Wrobleski, pitched 2 scoreless innings, striking out 5 batters. He’s quickly becoming a fan favorite for good reason.

In the final frame, the Dodgers handed the ball to Jack Dreyer to close it out. He gave up one hit but struck out two to lock down the save and secure the much-needed win.

With the losing streak behind them, the Dodgers head back to Los Angeles, where they’ll face the struggling Colorado Rockies. A sweep there could help get the team back on track as the postseason is near.
